Managing Remote Access Concentrators Using Annex Manager
Chapter 4    Setting Up RACs
4-26
The
Authorized Groups
field specifies the LAT protocol remote group codes
that are accessible to users on a RAC port. You can enter all, none, a series
of numbers separated by commas (e.g., 1, 5, 7) or a range of numbers
separated by dashes (e.g., 1, 5, 200-255). You can use any number
between 0 and 255.
The Edit Modem Window
The
 Edit Modem
window lets you change an existing modem definition for
any RAC and create a new definition or remove definitions from for RACs
other than ISDN Primary Rate RACs.
The
Edit Modem
 window uses the following fields:
The
Modem Name
field specifies the type of modem attached to
the ports you selected. For RACs with asynchronous ports, this
field automatically displays the name that appears in the
Edit
Async Port
 window's
Modem Name
 field. For ISDN Primary Rate
RACs, it displays the name of the internal modems from the
RAC configuration file.
If this field displays an existing modem name, the
Connect
Status String, Dialin Setup Command
, and
Dialout Setup Command
fields display current values. If you change values for a modem
that exists in an include file, Annex Manager copies the file and
place your new definition in the RAC configuration file.
If this field displays
 <undefined>
 or is blank, Annex Manager
provides default values in the
Connect Status String, Dialin Setup
Command
, and
Dialout Setup Command
 fields. You can use these
default values or enter new values.
If you want to view or edit a definition for a different modem
than the one that appears in the window, click
OK
 here and select
another name from the
Modem Name
 list. If the
Edit Modem
window first appears with a modem name and you change it to
an existing name, the
Connect Status String, Dialin Setup Command
and
Dialout Setup Command
 fields will not automatically display
current values for the name you entered. If you click
Apply
 at
this point Annex Manager changes the definition for the name
you entered to the original
Modem Name
 values.
