Spectra T950 Library

BlueScale10.5.0 adds the following new features:
ƒ Automatic Drive Cleaning (see

Caution

Starting with the BlueScale10.4.0 firmware, IBM LTO-4 tape drives must be using 
firmware version 8940 or later.

Important

When upgrading the library to BlueScale10.5.0 or later from BlueScale10.4.n or 
earlier, you must first upgrade the library firmware as described in 

. After the upgrade is complete, follow the instructions in 

 to update only the LC Server code. 

The step to update the LC Server is required to move the code supporting the 
Command Line Interface (CLI) to the hard disk directory on library’s flash memory.

This step is only necessary if you want to use the CLI. 

Important

If you plan to upgrade the Fibre Channel tape drives in your library from LTO-3 to 
LTO-4, read 

 for important information. Changes to the way a library generates the 

World Wide Node Name (WWNN) and World Wide Port Names (WWPN) for LTO-4 
Fibre Channel drives will affect your SAN or HBA configurations.

The IBM LTO-4 Fibre Channel drives currently shipping with the library are equipped 
two Fibre Channel ports. Read

If an LTO-4 Fibre Channel drive is connected to a SAN using zoning or to an HBA 
using persistent binding, you may also need to update your SAN or HBA
