Additional Known Issues
In addition to the reservation conflict issue, certain brands of iSCSI HBAs
have the following other known issues:

Adaptec 7211 iSCSI HBA This iSCSI HBA is not supported by the E-QIP.
Intel PRO 1000/T iSCSI HBA
Both discovery sessions and login sessions fail when CHAP (Challenge
Handshake Authentication Protocol) is enabled. Spectra Logic
recommends that you disable CHAP authentication on the QIP and
HBA. See the “Using Partitions” chapter in the Spectra T950 Library User
Guide for information about CHAP.

Intel has a special driver for the Windows platforms that must be
installed to prevent Auto Request Sense from being issued on SCSI
errors. The driver name is
errors. The driver name is
30ipspecial.exe
. This driver should be
used instead of the standard
30ipstorage.exe
.
The recommended maximum block size limit is 64 Kb with this HBA.
When using block sizes larger than 64 Kb, the driver breaks the blocks
up into 64-Kb blocks.

Qlogic 4010 iSCSI HBA
The latest drivers need to be installed for the Qlogic HBA. With
downlevel drivers certain invalid SCSI commands can cause the HBA
to issue an auto-request sense to the target device. This auto-request
sense causes SCSI command errors to report zeros to all applications
instead of the valid sense key errors.

The Default Timeout for each Spectra Logic tape drive and tape library
target must be changed from 10 seconds to 600 seconds. This change
must be done on a per-target basis from the Target Settings tab in the
Qlogic SANBladeiX GUI.

Qlogic SANBladeiX GUI.
Spectra Logic recommend increasing the Connection Keep Alive
Timeout value from 30 to 300 seconds. The Connection Keep Alive
Timeout determines the time interval for when the HBA checks to see if
it still has a connection with the target device. The HBA determines if
the connection is alive by sending an iSCSI NOOP PDU to the device.
This value is editable on a per-connection basis from the Target Settings
tab in the Qlogic SANBladeiX GUI. With tape drives and tape libraries,
a longer interval is recommended.
