To prepare for the installation of the Cisco 380 and Cisco 680 series appliance, perform the following 
steps:

Do NOT open the appliance. Doing so violates your support agreement. The appliance does not contain 
any serviceable components. 

Keep the shipping container in case the appliance requires shipping in the future.

The chassis is thoroughly inspected before shipment. If any damage occurred during transportation or 
any items are missing, contact your customer service representative immediately. 

To inspect the shipment, follow these steps:

Remove the appliance from its cardboard container and save all packaging material.

Compare the shipment to the equipment list provided by your customer service representative. Verify 
that you have all items.

Safety and Compliance Guide. 

Step 2

Read the appropriate Cisco AsyncOS release 
notes for the Cisco 380 and Cisco 680 series 
appliance(s).

Place the appliance on a stable work surface. --

View installation guidelines, rack 
requirements, and equipment requirements.

Step 6

Mount the appliance with the provided slide 
rails.

Step 7

Establish network connectivity.
