Removes the selected line(s) from the screen while saving a copy in the clipboard.

Select one or more lines.

Click Edit, then Cut.
The selected lines disappear. Since they are saved in the clipboard, you can paste them back 
using Edit - Paste.

“Copy”, “Paste”, “Delete” below

Saves the selected line(s) in the clipboard without removing them from the screen.

Click Edit, then Copy.
The patterns are copied into the clipboard and are ready to be pasted.
