Printed Circuit Boards—DC Motor Maintenance

. Loosen and remove the two 2.5 mm mounting screws for either the ribbon 

take-up or the ribbon supply motor.

. Remove the motor and gear through the access hole on the 

bracket.

. Gently remove the wire leads from the motor and make note which lead is 

connected the positive (+) terminal.

Depending on the type of print engine you are working on, left-hand or right-

hand, the ribbon take-up is slightly higher than the ribbon supply.
