Installing the Ribbon Supply/Ribbon Take-Up DC Motor
1.
Replace either the ribbon supply/ribbon take-up motor through the access hole and 
replace, but do not tighten the two 2.5 mm mounting screws. 
2.
Minimize the play (backlash) between the motor gears and intermediate gears. Ensure that 
the gears move as smoothly as possible. 
3.
. With the backlash set, hold the bracket still and tighten the screws. 
Make sure the gears move as smoothly as possible. 
4.
Replace, but do not tighten the four 3 mm Allen screws and spacers that hold the ribbon 
supply and ribbon take-up motor bracket to the printer. Make sure that all wiring is clear 
of the mounting bracket and is not being pinched. 
5.
Minimize the play (backlash) between the spindle gears and the intermediate gears. 
Ensure that the gears move as smoothly as possible. 
6.
With the backlash set, hold the mounting bracket still and tighten the screws. 
7.
. Replace the three 2.5 mm screws that secure the DC power supply to the 
printer. 
8.
. Reattach the wire leads with two black wires to the positive (+) terminals 
and the red and black wire leads to the negative (-) terminals.
9.
Replace the nine mounting screws. 
10.
Carefully connect the J1 connector into the control panel. 
11.
. Replace the two 2.5 mm control panel mounting screws to secure the 
assembly to the printer. 
12.
Refer to 
 and reinstall the PCB access panel.
13.
Refer to 
 to close the print engine, reinstall it into the applicator, 
and to resume printer operation.
Note • 
Make sure the thermal conductive paper is seated between the assembly and the 
printer frame.
