Error messages
If the unit detects a problem, one of the following messages is shown on the display.

Display message
Cause/solution
L
Erase unnecessary messages (page 45).
Check Tel Line
L
The supplied telephone line cord has not been 
connected yet or not connected properly. Check the 
connections (page 14).
Error
L
Recording was too short. Try again.
Failed
L
Phonebook copy failed (page 26). Confirm the other 
handset (the receiver) is in standby mode and try 
again.
Incomplete
L
The receiver’s phonebook memory is full. Erase the 
unnecessary phonebook entries from the other 
handset (the receiver) and try again.
Invalid Number
L
You tried to send an SMS message to a phone number 
saved in the phonebook, caller list, or redial list that is 
over 20 digits long.
Memory Full
L
The phonebook memory is full. Erase unnecessary 
entries (page 25).
L
Message memory is full. Erase unnecessary 
messages (page 45).
L
The bar call list memory is full. Erase unnecessary 
entries (page 34).
L
The maximum number of base units (4) is already 
registered to the handset. Cancel unused base unit 
registrations from the handset (page 36).
No link to base. 
Reconnect AC 
adaptor.
L
The handset has lost communication with the base 
unit. Move closer to the base unit and try again.
L
Unplug the base unit’s AC adaptor to reset the unit. 
Reconnect the adaptor and try again.
L
The handset’s registration may have been cancelled. 
Re-register the handset (page 35).
SMS Full
L
Erase unnecessary messages (page 40, 41).
Use rechargeable 
battery.
L
A wrong type of batteries such as Alkaline or 
Manganese was inserted. Use only the rechargeable 
Ni-MH batteries noted on page 6, 15.
You must first 
subscribe to 
Caller ID.
L
You must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Once you 
receive caller information after subscribing to a Caller 
ID service, this message will not be displayed.
