Updating the receiver software
Your receiver is equipped in the factory with the latest software version. W
e are, however , constantly
working on adapting the software to the wishes of our customers and to developments in technology
. Further
information on this will be found in the sections “Mainmenu - Service Menu”.
The information in these operating instructions was correct at the time of going to print. W
e reserve the
right however to make changes at any time and without prior notice. If new software is released for your
receiver, and this af fects the information in the operating instructions (e.g. changes to the menus and/or
functions), if we believe it necessary we will make available new operating instructions for download at
“www.kathrein.de”.
Make a note of the receiver's basic settings (these are set during f rst installation), so you can restore them
if necessary!
Please be aware of your responsibility towards your fellow human beings. Keep these instructions
for any questions that arise later, and if the receiver passes to another owner, pass them on to the
new owner.

connect the receiver and carry out f rst installation.
The following description of the menus and functions assumes that the UFS 924 has been correctly
connected and installed (as detailed in the operating instructions part 1 “Connection and set-up”).

Safety instructions - important notes
Network function
To connect the receiver to the network via the PC/laptop, you must have unrestricted rights (administrator
rights) for your PC/laptop and on your network. For this refer to the section “Mainmenu”, “Interface Setup”,
“Ethernet Settings”.
Note on the specifi cation of the hard disk size in these instructions
The UFS 924 is available with two different sizes of hard disk (500 GB and 1 TB). The operating instructions
are the same for all versions and is based on the 1 TB version. Discrepancies may occur between data/
on-screen displays and these instructions with respect to the storage capacity of your device’ s hard disk
(depending on which version you are using).
