5.3  reCOrdIng dIgITal TV

The ARCHOS 704 TV allows you to record your favorite TV programs very easily. 
While you’re watching TV, all you have to do is select the

 menu item (or 

press the red 

 button on the remote control) and the ARCHOS 704 TV will instantly 

start recording the program you’re watching. 
It will continue to record until either you stop the recording manually or the 

 

limit is reached.
To stop the recording, simply select the 

 menu item (or press the 

 button 

on the remote control). 
Note that while recording Digital TV, you will not be able to change channels.

The default location for Digital TV recordings is the folder called 

. Files recorded from Digital TV are named 

automatically from the program’s title. To view a recording, go to the Home Screen and select the 

 icon. You 

will see your recording here. Tap on   to see all your videos in the browser mode (for example if some of them are 

inside subfolders of the 

 folder).

If you would like to make a Digital TV recording for a future date or time, you can use the 

scheduler. You can program up to twenty different recordings up to one month in advance. 
From the Home Screen, tap on the 

 icon to highlight it and tap on it again to 

enter the Scheduler screen.

Tap on the line you want to edit to highlight it, then tap on it again to start editing.
Set each line to the desired date, time and channel. 

Make sure that the letter before the channel number is 

 (

 stands for Digital TV and 

 stands for Analog 

recording - see

(Optional) Select the 

 menu item to define a title for your scheduled recording, (see 

).

Select the 

 menu item to save the changes for this program.
