Make a Connection to the Remote Network
You are now ready to attempt a connection to the remote network. From the Dial-Up Networking
menu, click Dial.

This section describes:

the setup of a new number for dial-up networking under Windows 95
•
the process of dialing a newly set-up number
Installing Network Protocols
1.
From the Control panel, open Network.
2.
On the Configuration tab of the Network dialog box, ensure that Client for Microsoft
Networks, TCP/IP, and Dial-Up Adapter are installed. If they are go to step 9. If they are not
installed, click Add.

Select Client as the network component type to install. Click Add.

Select Microsoft and then Client for Microsoft Networks. Click OK.

Click Add again from the configuration tab of the Network dialog box.

Select Protocol as the network component to install. Click Add.

Select Microsoft and then TCP/IP. Click OK.
8.
Restart your machine when prompted.
9.
From the Control Panel, open Network.
10. Select TCP/IP and click Properties.
11. On the IP address tab, enter 101.78.1.2 for the IP address.

If the IP address pool is enabled on the Central, you may select Obtain an IP address
automatically.
