The 

 command displays the IP Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) 

table. This table shows the mapping between the host IP address, its MAC 
address, and how the IP address was learned.

This command allows for the following command filters (flags) and filter 
arguments:

The output includes the following information about each host listed:

 

<mac>

Displays information about the specified Layer 2 address 
of the IP interface.

-interface 

<name>

Displays information about the specified interface only. 

 

<type>

Displays information indicating how the MAC address 
was resolved to the IP address (either statically or 
dynamically).

<vpi/vci>

Displays information for the specified virtual path 
identifier (VPI)/virtual channel identifier (VCI) only.

<ip-address>

Displays information about the specified IP address.

IP Address

IP address of the host.

Hardware Addr

MAC address of the host.

Type

How the IP address was resolved to the MAC address: 
dynamic means that ARP resolved it; static means that it 
was configured through an adjacent host entry.

Encaps

Indicates the data link encapsulation type being used for
ARP packets.

Interface

Address of the IP interface through which packets reach 
the host.
