Follow these guidelines:
• If you cannot install the reader as the first device in the HP-HIL network, you must
manually configure the reader.

Manual Configuration
If autoconfiguration fails or if you cannot install the reader as the first device in the HP-
HIL network, follow these steps:

2. Determine the keyboard’s address, where address 1 is the network’s first device.
3. Scan a bar code with the correct keyboard (ITF or Vectra) and address. The reader
should emit one low beep followed by four low beeps, indicating that the reader has
