Data-On-Demand Timeout
As mentioned in the previous section, DOD will disconnect the ISDN data connection after a specified
period of “inactivity”. The DOD timeout specifies that time interval.

From the Set DOD Mode menu, press NEXT to advance to the Set DOD Timeout menu.

Connection Authentication
The EXTenders allow authentication to be disabled, required only from the Remote Module, required only
from the Office Module, or required from both units. The three receive authentication settings (Receive
Authentication, Receive User Name and Receive Password) specify the authentication information that
the EXTender requires the other unit to send to it. The three send authentication settings (Send Authentica-
tion, Send User Name and Send Password) specify the authentication information that the EXTender will
send to the other unit, if requested.

Setting Receive Authentication
The Remote Receive Authentication specifies the authentication protocol that the Office Module must use to
authenticate with the Remote Module. This means the Office Send Authentication protocol must match the
Remote Receive authentication protocol. If the Office Module does not support the required authentication
protocol, the connection will fail.

From the Configure PPP menu:

From the Set DOD Mode menu, press NEXT until you advance to the Set Receive Auth menu.

or CHAP.
