Installation of Cat. No. HCA02, System Coupler/Repeater, assures sufficient signal strength throughout 2-Wire systems. The HCA02
amplifies the command signal onto both 120 volt legs of the power system to ensure good command signal strength throughout larger
homes. The WIRING DIAGRAM shows the proper method for installation in a typical residential 120/240V and 120/208V power system.

The Cat. No. HCA02 should be mounted in a wall box as close to the circuit breaker panel as possible.

Decora Home Control power line carrier components are exclusively for use in residential applications only. Any other use will void Warranty.

 IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT ANY PART OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS, CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.

 USE THIS DEVICE ONLY WITH COPPER OR COPPER CLAD WIRE. WITH ALUMINUM WIRE USE ONLY DEVICES

MARKED CO/ALR OR CU/AL.

 TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKERS OR FUSES AND TEST THAT

POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!

2. As shown in WIRING DIAGRAM, the BLACK and RED lead of the Amplifier/Repeater must each be connected to their own 15A

circuit breakers.

3.  Remove 3/4" (1.9 cm) of insulation from each circuit conductor. Make sure that ends of conductors are straight.

4. Connect lead wires per WIRING DIAGRAM as follows: RED lead to its circuit breaker on PHASE A, the BLACK lead to its circuit

breaker on PHASE B, and the WHITE neutral lead to NEUTRAL. Twist strands of each lead tightly, and with circuit conductors, push
firmly into appropriate wire connector. Screw connectors on clockwise ensuring that no bare conductor shows below the wire
connectors. Secure each connector with electrical tape.

NOTE: For 120V applications, cap BLACK lead with an appropriate size wire connector. Secure connector with electrical tape.

5. Mount device in wall box with the adhesive strips provided. Mount blank wallplate on wall box.

6. Restore power at circuit breakers or fuses. INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.

When power is applied properly to the HCA02, the GREEN Power lamp will light. When the device detects a DHC signal, the GREEN
Power lamp will momentarily blink.

When the HCA02 is wired into a house with excessive noise, the RED Error lamp will blink. This lamp does not indicate a problem by itself; a
DHC Intellisense

®

 system will operate even with a large noise signal (non-Intellisense

®

 units may encounter problems). If the device is not

receiving a DHC signal (GREEN lamp does not blink) AND the RED lamp blinks, there is an indication of a possible noise problem.

Use the Test switch to test the operation of the Repeater. Pressing the switch will transmit P1 ON and P1 OFF codes continously. The
Repeater will continue to transmit codes until the Test switch is pressed again, or a DHC signal is detected from another device.

L’installation d’un coupleur / répéteur de système HCA02 permet d’assurer l’intensité des signaux à l’échelle d’un système bifilaire. En
amplifiant les signaux de commande transmis sur les deux dérivations de 120 volts d’un circuit d’alimentation, ce dispositif fait en sorte
que les signaux de commande aient assez de puissance pour parcourir tout le réseau, même dans les grandes résidences. La façon de
raccorder le dispositif à un système d’alimentation résidentiel type de 120/240 V ou de 120/208 V est illustrée au SCHÉMA DE CÂBLAGE.

Le HCA02 doit être installé dans une boîte murale située le plus près possible du panneau à disjoncteurs.

Les Commandes domotiques Decora à courant porteur sont conçues exclusivement pour les applications résidentielles; tout autre usage
pourrait en annuler la garantie.

 N’UTILISER CE DISPOSITIF QU’AVEC DU FIL DE CUIVRE; EN PRÉSENCE DE FIL D’ALUMINIUM, UTILISER

SEULEMENT LES DISPOSITIFS PORTANT LA MARQUE CO/ALR OU CU/AL.

 POUR ÉVITER LES RISQUES D’INCENDIE, DE CHOC ÉLECTRIQUE OU D’ÉLECTROCUTION, COUPER

LE COURANT AU FUSIBLE OU AU DISJONCTEUR ET S’ASSURER QUE LE CIRCUIT SOIT BIEN COUPÉ AVANT DE
PROCÉDER À L’INSTALLATION.

2. Conformément au SCHÉMA DE CÂBLAGE, raccorder chacun des fils de sortie du coupleur / répéteur (un NOIR et un ROUGE) à un

disjoncteur de 15 A distinct.

3. Dénuder chacun des conducteurs de circuit sur environ 1,9 cm (3/4 po); s’assurer que les extrémités soient bien raidies.

4. Raccorder les fils conformément au SCHÉMA DE CÂBLAGE et de la façon suivante : le fil de sortie ROUGE à un disjoncteur de la

PHASE A, le fil de sortie NOIR à un disjoncteur de la PHASE B, et le fil de sortie BLANC (neutre) au NEUTRE du circuit. Torsader
solidement ensemble les brins de chaque fil de sortie avec le conducteur correspondant et enfoncer fermement les raccords dans une
marette de grosseur appropriée, en vissant cette dernière et en s’assurant qu’aucun brin de cuivre ne dépasse. Protéger les raccords
au moyen de ruban isolant.

REMARQUE : dans le cas d’une application de 120 V, protéger le fil de sortie NOIR au moyen d’une marette de grosseur appropriée,
en recouvrant le tout de ruban isolant.

5. Fixer le dispositif dans la boîte murale au moyen des bandes adhésives fournies; fixer une plaque d’obturation sur la boîte.

6. Rétablir le courant au fusible ou au disjoncteur; L’INSTALLATION EST TERMINÉE.

in materials and workmanship under normal and proper use for two years from
the purchase date. Leviton’s only obligation is to correct such defects by
repair or replacement, at its option, if within such two year period the product
is returned prepaid, with proof of purchase date, and a description of the

2591. This warranty excludes and there is disclaimed liability for labor for
removal of this product or reinstallation. This warranty is void if this product
is installed improperly or in an improper environment, overloaded, misused,
opened, abused, or altered in any manner, or is not used under normal
operating conditions or not in accordance with any labels or instructions.
There are no other or implied warranties of any kind, including merchantability
and fitness for a particular purpose, but if any implied warranty is required by
the applicable jurisdiction, the duration of any such implied warranty, including
merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, is limited to two years.

including without limitation, damage to, or loss of use of, any equipment, lost
sales or profits or delay or failure to perform this warranty obligation. The
remedies provided herein are the exclusive remedies under this warranty,
