JBL POWER AMPS
2-2-2
“The Power Series amps are feature-packed, incorporating several of the premium technologies
we developed for the GTi line but at a more competitive price,” said Andy Wehmeyer, product
marketing manager, JBL Mobile Systems. “The Power Series BPX amps use Crown technology
to deliver great bass, while the PX models provide excellent power for component and midrange
speakers. Between the two types, consumers can choose from various JBL solutions for their
system needs.”
Also featured in the BPX amps, as well as in the PX300.4 (300-watt 4-channel power amp), is a
Dynamic Bass Optimizer (DBO™). The DBO is a subsonic filter with variable frequency and
Variable Q that enables the woofer to get the juice it needs while preventing over-excursion.
This adjusts the power to levels the speakers can use, maximizing the efficiency of the system.
Rounding out the line is the PX600.2 (600-watt 2-channel power amp), which delivers 150 watts
x 2 channels at 4 ohms, 300 watts x 2 channels at 2 ohms and 600 watts bridged at 4 ohms. The
300.4 offers 75 watts x 4 channels at 4 ohms, 150 watts x 4 channels at 2 ohms and 300 watts x 2
channels bridged at 4 ohms.
All of the Power Series amps feature low distortion and a high damping factor. Other features
include preamp outputs, remote level controls (BPX models) and a 12/24dB/octave variable
crossover. They offer high-/low-pass filters, and the BPX amps also have a built-in subsonic
filter.
Shipping in March 2003, the Power Series amps have the following suggested retail prices:
PX600.1, $474.95; PX300.4, $524.95; BPX1100.1, $1099.95; and BPX2200.1, $1,599.95. For
