Phaser 300X Color Printer
Using Black Substitution
Each of the color correction options include Black Substitution. This feature
takes each dot of composite black (printed with equal amounts of cyan,
magenta, and yellow inks), or black plus any other ink, and prints with black
ink only, saving ink and producing a “blacker” or pure black. In images
where you have specified black areas as a percentage of cyan, magenta, and
yellow, the printer uses that same percentage of black ink only.
