The system performs a full backup of all the information in the system and 
displays the outcome of the backup in the Results of Last Backup parameter. 
To view the results of the last backup: 

1.

 

From the Register Book, select the System tab. 

2.

 

Select Database Backup. 

3.

 

Click in the value area of the Results of Last Backup parameter. 

 

If there is a problem with the backup an alarm is generated on the system, 
and a description of the problem is logged in the results of last backup field. 
Use the following table to determine the source of some common problems 
you may encounter during the backup. 

backup: forcing rewind.../usr/local/bin/tar: 
can't open /dev/ratape : Device or address 
doesn't exist backup: tar failed ------ code 3 

There is no backup tape 
in the drive 

backup: forcing rewind.../usr/local/bin/tar: 
can't open /dev/ratape : File system is read-
only backup: tar failed ------ code 3 

The backup tape is write- 
protected 

backup: started rewind…/usr/local/bin/tar: 
can’t write /dev/ratape : I/O error backup:  
tar failed ------ code 3 

Error writing to the  
tape—backup tape may 
be damaged
