2.3.2 Wall-Mount
Installation
The
RIU may be mounted from any flat vertical surface. It is recommended that a backer board
such
as 3/4-inch plywood be applied over the mounting surface to provide a secure base for
attaching
the RIU. Two mounting holes are provided in the cable management tray for securing
the
RIU to the mounting surface. In addition, the mounting brackets may be removed and then
reinstalled
in such a way that they can be used for securing the RIU to the mounting surface.
Either
method for mounting may be used at the discretion of the installer. The fasteners must be
provided
by the installer. Use the following procedure to wall-mount the RIU:
Warning: Wet conditions increase the potential for receiving an electrical shock when
installing
or using electrically-powered equipment. To prevent electrical shock, never install
or
use electrical equipment in a wet location or during a lightning storm.
1. Obtain the appropriate fasteners (lag bolts, screw anchors, etc.) for securing the RIU to
the
mounting surface.
2. If the mounting brackets will be used to secure the RIU to the mounting surface, proceed
to
step 3. If the mounting brackets will not be used to secure the RIU to the mounting
surface,
skip steps 3 and 4 and proceed to step 5.
