Once the Drive has been properly connected and powered 
on, it should mount to your Desktop.

Once the Drive is connected and powered on, you should 
see a new hard drive icon with a new drive letter in My 
Computer/Windows Explorer. If your computer displays the 
Found New Hardware Wizard, follow the steps below.

1. In the Found New Hardware Wizard, under “Can Windows 

connect to Windows Update…”, select “Yes, now and 
every time I connect a device.”  Then click Next (Figure 1).

1. Plug the 4-pin connector of 

the FireWire cable into a 4-pin 
FireWire port on your com-
puter.

2. Plug the 6-pin connector into 

one of the FireWire ports on the 
Drive. 

3. Insert the small plug of the AC 

adapter into the Drive’s Power 
Port.

4. Plug the AC adapter into an AC 

outlet.

Once the connections are properly 
made, the Drive will power up 
and the Power/Data Indicator will 
illuminate.
