Connecting the Drive via USB
Windows 98SE Users
You will need your Windows 98SE CD and the AcomData
Software CD. Before connecting the Drive, insert the AcomData
CD into your CD drive. The CD will launch automatically and
the Retrospect Express start screen will appear. Click Quit to
exit the screen, but leave the CD in the drive.

USB Option 1: Using the USB cable
A single USB port will not supply sufficient current to power up
the Drive. Two USB ports are needed. One port is for data and
power; the other is for additional power only.

1. Plug the mini-USB connector into
the mini-USB port on the Drive.

Once the Drive has been properly connected and powered
on, you should see a new hard drive icon with a new drive
letter in My Computer/Windows Explorer. If your computer
cannot detect the Drive, you may need to manually search
for and install the driver named GPIO98.SYS. If you have
Windows 98 Second Edition 1394 Storage Supplement, this
file should be located at C:\WINDOWS/SYSTEM\IOSUBSYS\
GPIO98.SYS.
