OPERATION
GRILLING WITHOUT THE STAND
1.  Prepare the appliance as descri-
bed in the section “Assembly and
preparation for operation”.
2.  Check to make sure that all parts
have been assembled correctly,
and that the grill table is stable.
3.  For safety reasons, the appliance
may be used indoors only as a
table grill. The appliance may be
used as a free-standing grill only
in a protected area out of doors.
4.  Connect the appliance via the
power cable to the power supply
(AC, 230 V~, 50 Hz).
5.  Use the rotary knob to set the
desired temperature.
6.  When the required temperature
has been reached, you can start
grilling.
7.  The first time you use the appli-
ance, it is possible that there will
be some smoke.
8.  The water in the water tray may
also produce a small amount of
steam. The water prevents the sur-
face under the grill from exposure
to excessive temperatures.
9.  Please make sure that the water
always covers the bottom of the
pan. If this is not the case, add
water. Switch off the appliance
and let it cool off. Make sure that
no water splashes on the hot hea-
ting elements.
10.
Do not completely cover the grill
grate with aluminum foil or other
objects that could cause the appli-
ance to overheat. Of course, you
can use conventional aluminum
grill trays, and you can also grill
food wrapped in aluminum foil,
such as potatoes.
11.  The height of the grill grate can be
adjusted to 2 different positions.
Please do not move the grill grate
by hand as long as it is hot, since
this could result in burns. To grill
in the lowest position, you have
to insert the feet of the grill grate
into the holes provided. For the
highest position, place the feet on
the small surface next to the hole.
To adjust the grill grate while it is
still hot, always use suitable pot
holders or insulated gloves.
12.  Frozen foods should be comple-
tely thawed before grilling.
13.  For optimum grilling results, turn
the food regularly.
14.  It is possible that grease may
splatter while food is being grilled.
Therefore, you should protect the
floor beneath the appliance to
prevent damage from splashing
grease.
15.  When you no longer need to grill,
please set the controller to the
“MIN” position, and then unplug
the appliance from the power sup-
ply.
CAUTION:
The appliance becomes very
hot during operation!
You can also use the grill without the stand. If you wish to use the grill indoors,
for safety reasons you may do so only without the stand. You may use the appli-
ance as a free-standing grill only out of doors.
For this, prepare the appliance on a suitable flat surface as described, and fit the
insert, with the correctly installed and filled water tray, and the heating element
and grill grate inserted.
