Pause the recording
Stop the recording
÷ In record-pause mode, press the same key again to resume
recording from the same position. Note that the track
number increments at this time.
÷ The "
CDR
" display blinks and the CD-R REC indicator also
blinks.
÷ The same function is also available using the CD-R  6 key
on the remote control unit.

÷ If the key is pressed during recording from a CD, the CD
playback also stops.
÷ If the key is pressed during recording from a TAPE, the
TAPE playback also stops.
÷ The same function is also available using the 7 STOP key on
the remote control unit.
4. Start recording.
÷ "
CDR
" is displayed and the CD-R REC indicator starts to light steadily.
÷ If you also want to record the signal on tape, press the TAPE REC key in step 2.
÷  "CDR Writing" is displayed when the recording completes.
÷ It is possible to skip tracks which failed to be recorded during playback. This
function can be registered in each disc (before it is finalized).

÷ Only the CD-RW discs can be erased. "Erasure of CD-RW recording"

÷ To play the recorded disc on the CD player of this system or another CD player,
it is required to finalize the disc. "Finalizing a CD-R/RW (FINALIZE)"
Display "CDR Writing" indicates that recorded data is being written
in the CD-R/RW. Do not apply vibrations or impact during recording
and "CDR Writing" display.
If the power cord is unplugged from the power outlet or a power
failure occurs during recording, the disc data may be destroyed and
the disc may become unusable.
Press the CD-R REC key.
(The CD recorder enters record-pause mode.)
When a message is displayed:

counter a track with which digi-
tal-to-digital recording is prohib-
ited. In this case, "SCMS"(
A)
is displayed and recording
pauses temporarily, but playback
of the source continues and re-
cording restarts whenever a track
with which digital-to-digital re-
cording is permitted is encoun-
tered. However, if "SCMS" is dis-
played with the first track to be
recorded, the track as well as the
subsequent tracks will not be
recorded.
÷ When the CD-R REC key is pressed, the CD-R REC indicator starts fast blinking,
then it changes to slow blinking to indicate record-pause mode.
When the CD-R indicator starts slow blinking, press the CD-R REC key
again (this starts actual recording).
÷ The fast blinking of the CD-R REC indicator indicates that recording is being
prepared. Press the CD-R REC key after the blinking speed becomes slow.
÷ In digital signal recording from the CD player of this system or from auxiliary digital
source, recording will not start until the operation in step 
3 below is performed.
