Press the power s witch to  th e on (| ) positio n.

Verify power sup ply operation by ch ecking the power sup ply’s front-panel LEDs. You shou ld see the 
following:

The  LED labeled  INPUT OK  is  green.

The LED labeled  OUTPUT OK is green.

Check  the power sup ply and  system status  from th e  system console b y entering  show power co mmand .

This sectio n d escrib es how to  remove an d install the fan assembly. 

You will need a Phillips screwdriver for the following two procedu res.

When removi ng the fan tray, keep your hands and fingers away from the spinning fan blades. Let the 
fan blades completely stop before you remove the fan tray. Statement 258

Never operate the system for  an  extended period if the fan assembly is  removed  or  if it is  not functioning  
pro perly. An  over-temp eratu re con dition can cause severe eq uipment damage.

To remove the existing fan assemb ly, perfo rm the followin g s teps:

Loos en the two captive in stallation screws on the fan  assembly by turn ing them counterclockwise.

Grasp  the fan as sembly  with both hands an d pull it ou tward; gently move it side to s id e if necess ary to 
unseat it from the backplane. Slide it out of th e chass is and place it in  a safe place.
