Coating Type
Indicates the type of coating used on coated paper. The type of coating may impact
the appearance of the printed document.
• Gloss
• High Gloss
• Semi-Gloss
• Satin Matte
Uncoated Finish
Describes the finish on any uncoated papers used for printing. Specifying the finish of
the paper helps to ensure better toner adherence on the page.
• Printer Default or Use Job Setting for Special Pages.
• Smooth
• Regular
• Rough
Grain
Specifies a paper grain for the print job.
• Printer Default or Use Job Setting for Special Pages.
• Long
• Short
Description (Expert)
Description (Expert): Describes any additional characteristics of the paper that are not
already included in another column. For example, you may use two different envelopes
whose characteristics are identical except that one is self-adhesive and the other requires
moistening. You can specify the differences in this field. The information recorded in
this field is transmitted to the print server.
NOTE
This field cannot exceed 255 characters.
Selections available are:
• <user descriptions>: Lists up to 10 saved user descriptions available for selection. You
can type a new description that will be added to the saved user descriptions.
• Printer Default or Use Job Setting for Special Pages.
• Clear List: Clears all names from this menu.
