If finishing is specified in the job, no splitting occurs.

•

If only a monochrome printer is available, you are alerted that 
the job cannot be scheduled.

•

In order for a job to be split using this method, it must be in 
PDF format

The color pages have this comment on the banner page: “Color 
pages from job <job number>.” 

The monochrome pages have this comment on the banner page: 
“Black/White pages from job <job number>.”

If the documents submitted are part of a VI container, it is possible 
to load balance the document sets within the container. Load 
balancing of VI Container document sets is limited to database 
mode VIPP print files. The VI Container must include a database 
master file (.dbm file).

 

The job is submitted to the printer that contains the least number 
of jobs, among the list of available and acceptable printers that are 
associated with the selected queue.

The job is sent to the next available and acceptable printer in the 
round-robin list.

The available job split methods are set on the queue by the 
system administrator. The system administrator will determine the 
appropriate methods and may choose to render specific methods 
unselectable. Once you submit the job to Job Manager you can 
change how the job is split for jobs in a Pending or Held state.
