Possible causes

The print tone is too low. 
Check the print tone.    If it is too low, increase it.

The print surface of the loaded 
media faces down. 
Load the media correctly.

The ink side of the loaded 
ribbon faces inside. 
Load the ribbon correctly.

4. LOADING THE RIBBON 
Thermal transfer media 
(normal media) is loaded 
without loading a ribbon. 
Check if the thermal transfer media is loaded with 
“THERMAL PAPER” selected.

The ribbon is not loaded 
properly. 
Check that the ribbon is loaded when the thermal transfer 
printing is performed.

■  The loaded ribbon is torn or ejected with the media. 
Possible causes

The loaded ribbon is not 
Toshiba TEC-approved or 
recommended. 
Check that the loaded ribbon is Toshiba TEC-approved or 
recommended.

The print tone is too high. 
Check the print tone.    If it is too high, decrease it.

The ribbon is not loaded 
properly. 
Load the ribbon properly.

Turn the knob of the Ribbon Take-up Shaft.    Take up any 
slack in the ribbon.
