Net Module Installation and Removal Warning
Make sure that the pins on the net module plug connector and the pins on the
router baseboard connector are aligned (see

module into the baseboard connector, it should attach easily. If there is any
resistance, STOP and recheck the pins before forcing the connector down.

When you remove a net module from a Model 5380 Ethernet Router or Model
5580 Token Ring Router, you must lift the module straight up, parallel to the
baseboard. Grasp the board close to the connector using both hands; do not pull
the board up from one end. If you rock the module back and forth or side to
side, you can bend the connector pins. When you attempt to reinstall a net
module with bent connector pins, you can damage the net module and the
baseboard.
5580 Token Ring Router, you must lift the module straight up, parallel to the

If the connectors are not properly aligned, you can bend the
pins, damage the net module and the baseboard, and cause a short circuit.
