Scanner Selection

Terminals:  All Trakker Antares terminals.

Description:  Identifies the type of scanner you have connected to the terminal. The
terminal can optimize the scanning performance by using the scanner you
define in this command. When you select a specific scanner, other
scanners may not function properly. Your terminal may not work if you
connect an incompatible scanner or if you select an incorrect option for
your input device.
For 241X, 242X, and 243X terminals, you can also use this command to
configure the spotting beam when you have a long range or high visibility
scanner on the terminal. There are three options: no aim, short aim, and
long aim.
Scanner Selection Options
Option
Description
No aim
The spotting beam is turned off. When you press the Scan button, the laser
scanner starts scanning immediately.
Short aim
The spotting beam appears for 400 ms to help you aim the laser scanner
before it starts scanning.
Long aim
The spotting beam appears for 1 second to help you aim the laser scanner
before it starts scanning.

For 242X terminals, the Scanner Selection configuration command is only
used when a module for cabled scanners, long range scan module, or a
high visibility scan module is installed on the terminal.

Note: For 243X terminals, you must define this command and select the
tethered input device that is connected to the terminal. If this command is
not defined for the appropriate input device, the scanner trigger on the
input device may activate the integrated scanner on the terminal.
