Figure 2-1  How MeetingPlace Integrates with your Network
Attending Conferences
Users can easily attend “meet me” conferences. At a pre-determined time
and date, participants dial the MeetingPlace phone number and enter a
meeting ID, a unique number that identifies each meeting.
By default, MeetingPlace assigns meeting IDs, but you can allow users to
assign custom or vanity IDs. For example, the VP of Sales may choose a
vanity ID of 7355 (“SELL”) on the touchtone phone. For reservationless
meetings, each user’s profile number is their reservationless meeting ID.
(For more information about vanity IDs, see the Restricting Vanity Meeting
IDs
 section, later in this chapter.)
Because you assign the MeetingPlace telephone number, users can dial the
same telephone number to attend all of their conferences. Some customers
even choose easy-to-remember PBX extensions for their MeetingPlace
systems, such as 6338 (“MEET”) and 8255 (“TALK”) on the touchtone
phone.
Additionally, when the meeting has finished or has not yet started, the
MeetingPlace system delivers the prompt “The meeting has ended” or “The
meeting has not started.”
