Cisco Unified CCX 7.0 Software Compatibility
  •
In the primary site, hostnames of Cisco Unified CM servers can be used in all Cisco Unified CCX
configurations. These hostnames can be put into DNS or local hosts file of Cisco Unified CCX
servers. When the cold standby servers are active, the local hosts file should be updated to contain
all the Cisco Unified CM server hostnames used by Cisco Unified CCX but pointing to the local
Cisco Unified CM server’s IP.
  •
Alternatively, if IP addresses of Cisco Unified CM servers are configured in Cisco Unified CCX,
modify the Cisco Unified CCX configuration to use the local Cisco Unified CM.
  •
After the image has been restored, it may be necessary to modify other Cisco Unified CCX
configurations. For example, the appropriate region and location for the CTI ports may need to be
reconfigured for proper CAC and codec negotiation. Note that if Cisco Unified CM Publisher is
down or inaccessible, CTI Port and Route Point updates are not possible because the AXL service
used by Cisco Unified CCX needs access to the publisher to perform write operation to Cisco
Unified CM database.
Upgrading to Cisco Unified CCX 7.0
Cisco Unified CCX 7.0 supports software upgrade from previous versions. Refer the Cisco Unified CCX
Installation Guide
from the link below for compatible upgrade versions. If you wish to upgrade to 7.0
and add high availability, one additional physical server of equal performance as the existing server must
be added.
There is a limitation on the database size based on system hardware size. For more details, refer the
“Cisco Unified CCX Disk Space Usage” section in Cisco Unified CCX Installation Guide available at:
In addition, the Pre-upgrade check tool, which can be downloaded from CCO, can be run to find out how
much data can be migrated before upgrade. This tool can be found on the same web site as the
Configuration and Ordering tool.
Cisco Unified CCX 7.0 Software Compatibility
Cisco Unified CCX software is dependent upon integration with many other software components,
especially Cisco Unified CM.Make sure to check to ensure the Cisco Unified CCX release you are
planning is supported with the Cisco Unified CM release for which this deployment is planned. The
Cisco Unified CCX Software and Hardware Compatibility Guide is available at:
