Cisco Cisco Prime Central 1.0 Installation Guide

Prime Central connects to the database using an Oracle encryption feature. By default, connections between Prime Central and 
the embedded database are encrypted.

You can install a suite component in standalone mode or with Prime Central. If you want to install a suite component with 
Prime Central, your suite component must be the version shown in 

Cisco might have released patches to the required component versions after this document was last published online. 
Contact your Cisco account representative for the latest component patch that is compatible with the Prime Suite for 
IP NGN 1.0.

After you upgrade to the minimum required suite component version, you can install the suite component with Prime Central.

This section explains how to install the following Cisco Prime Central 1.0 components on the same or separate servers:

Database—Can be installed as an external or an embedded Oracle 11g database.

Portal—Provides a single sign-on and a multitenant common administrative interface for all domain managers within the 
suite.

Integration layer (IL)—Performs back-end mediation and enables information exchange between the various components.

Fault Management—Locates, diagnoses, and reports network problems.
