Back Up the Database
Introduction
In this procedure, you will back up the Informix database. The CD labeled DBDS
Maintenance CD 2.1.x should still be in the CD drive of the DNCS.

Backing Up the Informix Database
Use this procedure to back up the DNCS and Application Server databases.

The DNCS, the Application Server, and Spectrum can be running while you back
up the Informix database.

It may take up to 30 minutes to back up a typical database with approximately
100,000 DHCTs.
1. If necessary, open an xterm window on the DNCS.
2. Type su - and then press Enter to log in as root user.
