Did the script you ran in step 13 execute without error? 
• 

If yes, type /usr/sbin/shutdown  –y  –g0  –i0 and then press Enter. 
Result:  The Application Server shuts down and an ok prompt appears. 

• 

If no, contact Cisco Services for assistance. 

15. 

 

At the ok prompt, type devalias and then press Enter. 
Result:  The system displays a list of aliases for the various devices. 

16. 

 

Was the UniPack included in the list of aliases displayed in step 15? 
• 

If yes, go to step 21. 

• 

If no, type printenv  nvramrc and then press Enter. 
Result:  The system displays the environmental variables of nvram. 

17. 

 

Was the UniPack included in the environmental variables displayed in  

step 16? 
• 

If yes, type reset and then press Enter. 
Result:  The Application Server begins to reboot. 

• 

If no, follow the procedures in Appendix F, Setting Up the UniPack Alias, 

to set up the UniPack alias. Then, go to step 22 after completing the 

procedures in Appendix F. 

18. 

 

When the message Boot device disk file and args appears, press the Stop  

and a keys simultaneously. 
Result:  An ok prompt appears. 

19. 

 

At the ok prompt, type devalias and then press Enter. 
Result:  The system displays a list of aliases for the various devices. 

20. 

 

Was the UniPack included in the list of aliases displayed in step 19? 
• 

If yes, go to step 21, next in these instructions. 

• 

If no, follow the procedures in Appendix F, Setting Up the UniPack Alias, 

to set up the UniPack alias. Then, go to step 21 after completing the 

procedures in Appendix F.
