SR 2.5 and SR 3.5 Common Upgrade Procedures

Follow these instructions to shut down the Application Server and to then 

disconnect the UniPack 

 

1. 

 

Type /usr/sbin/shutdown  –y  –g0  –i0 and then press Enter. 
Result:  The Application Server shuts down and an ok prompt appears. 

2. 

 

Turn off power to the Application Server. 

3. 

 

Turn off power to the UniPack. 

4. 

 

Disconnect the UniPack from the Application Server. 

5. 

 

Turn on power to the Application Server. 
Result:  A series of messages scroll across the screen as the Application Server 

boots. 

6. 

 

When the message Boot device: disk file and args appear, press the Stop and 

a keys simultaneously. 
Result:  An ok prompt appears. 

7. 

 

Type boot –r and then press Enter. 
Result:  The system reboots and the CDE window opens. 

8. 

 

Log into the Application Server CDE as dncs user. 

9.
