tile matrix capabilities. All RS-232 commands configured in Cisco StadiumVision 
Director must be prefixed with RS-232.tx_hex=, as opposed to RS-232 responses 
which do not have a prefix. 

RS-232 responses are used to retrieve the current status of a TV. Currently Cisco 
StadiumVision Director uses responses only when querying a TV for its current 
power on/off status. RS-232 responses in Cisco StadiumVision Director are always 
configured without a prefix. 

For situations where a TV cannot be controlled via RS-232 or otherwise, volume 
and mute can be controlled by the DMP instead. This is behavior is indicated by 
configuring volume and mute commands that start with sigma=. 

To configure RS-232 serial commands: 

1.  Open the Serial Commands tab: 

 

2.  From the Available Serial Commands list, select the command or commands 

that you wish to add and click <<. This adds the command name to the list of 
Configured Serial Commands.  

3.  If the command you wish to configure is not in the list of Available Serial 

Commands, click the + at the upper right of the list box and enter the label you 
wish to use for the new command. Then click << to add the command to the list 
of Configured Serial Commands.  

4.  Highlight the serial command in the Configured Serial Commands list. 

5.  Click the + above the Serial Strings of Selected Commands list. 

6.  Enter the appropriate serial string. This string will now be associated with the 

highlighted serial command for this device.
