Database Updates and Changes
Each Administration & Data Server has a copy of the central database configuration data and
scripts in its local database (awdb). All Configuration Manager tools and the Script Editor use
the local database (awdb) copy to make changes to configuration and script data. These tools
first modify the data in the Central Controller database, which is then copied to the local database
(awdb). This ensures that the local database (awdb) copy is up-to-date with the central database.
The Logger replicates historical data to the HDS database on the Administration & Data Server.
Local Database (AWDB)
The local database (awdb) contains the following information:
Configuration information (copied from the central database), if the Administration & Data
Server has a configuration role
Scripts (copied from the central database)
Real-time data
For specific information on the tables of the Unified ICM databases, refer to the Database
Schema Guide for Cisco Unified ICM/Contact Center Enterprise & Hosted
 or the online ICM
Schema Help.
Database Creation and Initialization
The local database (awdb) is created automatically and initialized when you install the
Administration & Data Server software. Its name has the form inst_awdb, where inst is an up
to five-character instance name. For example, the local database (awdb) for instance ins01 is
named ins01_awdb.
Real-time Data
The real-time client process on the Administration & Data Server keeps the real-time data in
the local database (awdb) up-to-date. The real-time data is updated in the local database (awdb)
every ten seconds. Old real-time data is constantly overwritten by new real-time data.
