   KN-304 Quick Configuration Guide
■ When Using in an Environment Consisting of Windows 95/98 Only
In the case of printing on a LAN (Local Area Network) consisting of Windows 95/98 only without installing a
dedicated printer server, connection can be made to the printer using a format referred to as “peer-to-peer”.
The setup procedure in this case is as described below.
Set up TCP/IP of the KN-304 from the LCD panel of the Konica 7020.
Set up TCP/IP with the computer being used (Windows 95/98).
Install “IP-P2P” from the CD-ROM provided.
Install the “Printer Driver”.
● TCP/IP Setup of KN-304 (Printer)
Select [1. TCP/IP Setup] from the [Network Setup] menu using the LCD panel of the Konica 7020.
After each setting, press [Previous]. If asked Yes or No, press [Yes] to save the new setting press
[No] 
to cancel.
Select the IP mode.
Select [1. Set IP Mode] on the TCP/IP setup menu.  Select whether or not DHCP is enabled.
[1: Enable DHCP]: Dynamic IP addresses are assigned by DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol).  Proceed to step 4.
[2: Static IP Address]: Static IP addresses are assigned manually.  Proceed to step 3.
IP Setup
Select [2. Set IP Manually] from the TCP/IP setup menu.  This selection cannot be made if [1. Enable
DHCP] has been designated in [DHCP Selection].
Select all of the four parameters below .
[1: IP Address]: Enter the IP address assigned to KN-304.
[2: Subnet Mask]: Enter the subnet mask.
[3: Gateway]: Enter the IP address of the gateway if one is used.
[4: Persistent IP Address Enable]: Designate [1: Yes].
Then press [Previous] to go back to [Network Setup] menu.
Press [NIC Update] and then enter the password when the password is requested.
Turn off the main power of the Konica 7020 and then turn it back on again after about 6 seconds to
make the settings active.
● TCP/IP Setup for Windows 95/98-Compatible Computers
TCP/IP setup is performed with the respective Windows 95/98-compatible computers using a printer through
the KN-304.  Refer to the Windows 95/98 Help menu for information on the TCP/IP setup procedure.
