If you opt for the Auto Search, Photo will scan your local hard drive(s) for 
images. Your program files, network drives, and any removable media such as 
CDs will not be scanned.   

To select specific folders and drives you want Photo to scan, simply click on 
Advanced Search.  

 

Here you can specify the location of the search, add keywords, restrict the 
search to specific file types, and more. It is recommended that you complete a 
scan the first time you run Photo to easily locate images on your system.  You 
may elect to rescan specific folders or your entire drive again at any time by 
selecting Find Images on My Computer under the File menu. If you don’t 
want Photo to scan for images, simply click Cancel.
