Setting the language of disc menu, audio and subtitle for playing 
the DVD-Video. 
≥Some discs are designed to start in a certain language despite 

any changes made here.

≥If a language which is not recorded is selected, or if languages 

are already fixed in the disc, the language set as the default in 
the disc will be played instead.

≥In case of English/French/German/Italian/Spanish languages, 

when you make download from TV and Country setting of Auto 
Setup in plug-in, the language (Soundtrack/Menus) will be the 
same and Subtitle will set to “Automatic”.

This is the language code setting.
Input a code number with the numeric buttons. (See page 59, 
“Language code list”.)

If the language selected for “Soundtrack” is not available, 
subtitles of that language will automatically appear if available 
on that disc.

You can set a limit on DVDs unsuitable for some audiences 
(e.g. children). You cannot change the settings and play the limited 
DVDs unless you enter a password.

[8 No Limit]: All DVD-Video can be played.
[1] to [7]:

Prohibits play of DVD-Video with corresponding 
ratings recorded on them.

[0 Lock All]: Prohibits play of all DVD-Video.

Select how to play pictures contained on some DVD-Audio.
The setting returns to “Off” when you change the disc or turn the 
unit off.

You can play DVD-Video content on DVD-Audio.

You can dub discs to DVD-R in High Speed by setting this to “On” 
before recording to HDD.

You can select the recording mode to record SD VIDEO

SD CARD capacity
Select the proper item according to the capacity of the card. 
Programmes are divided according to this setting and then 
recorded on HDD. Therefore, you can dub them to the SD 
Memory Card exactly without extra operation.

The power consumption is greatly reduced when 
the unit is turned off.
≥“FL Display” (page 55) is automatically set to 

“Automatic”.

≥To turn the unit on, keep [Í/I] pressed on the 

main unit. It is not possible to turn it on with the 
remote control.

≥The Power Save function does not work in the 

timer recording standby mode.

≥When the unit is off, Pay TV programmes cannot 

be watched on the TV because the signal from the 
connected decoder is not looped through. To 
watch them, turn on the unit.

The power consumption is not reduced when the 
unit is turned off.
