Making and Answering Calls
3.1 Making phone calls
3.1.1 With the handset
Important:

To prevent battery consumption, be sure 
to press 
{ih} if a busy tone sounds 
when/after using the handset.

Lift the handset and press {C}.

Dial the telephone number.

When finished talking, press {ih} or place 
the handset on the base unit.
Note:

If you cannot dial, the dialling mode setting 
may be wrong. Change the setting both on 
the base unit (feature #13, page 49) and on 
the handset (page 57).
To redial the last number dialled from the 
handset
Press {C}, then press {R}.
To redial using the redial list
The last 10 numbers dialled with the handset are 
stored in the redial list.
1. Press {R}.

The last number dialled is displayed.
2. Press {e} or {v} repeatedly to select the 
number.
L
To exit the list, press {ih}.
3. Press {C}.
To edit a number in the redial list before 
calling back
1. Press {R}.
2. Press {e} or {v} repeatedly to select the 
number.
3. Press {>}.
4. Press {e} or {v} repeatedly to display 
“EDIT CALL NO”.
5. Press {>}.

The first digit of the number flashes.
6. Press {<} or {>} to move to the position to 
the right of where you want to edit the 
number.
7. Edit the number.

To clear a digit, press {C}.
8. Press {C}.
To erase numbers in the redial list
1. Press {R}.
2. Press {e} or {v} repeatedly to select the 
number.
3. Press {>}.
4. Press {e} or {v} repeatedly to display 
“CLEAR”.

If you want to erase all numbers in the list, 
select “ALL CLEAR”.
5. Press {>}.
6. Press {e} or {v} to select “YES”.
7. Press {>} or {j}.

To erase other numbers, repeat steps 2 to 
7.
8. Press {ih}.
To store a number from the redial list into 
the phonebook
Numbers in the redial list can be stored into the 
phonebook (page 27).
1. Press {R}.
2. Press {e} or {v} repeatedly to select the 
number.
3. Press {>}.
4. Press {e} or {v} repeatedly to display 
“SAVE TEL NO”.
5. Press {>}.

The first 2 digits are the index number.
6. Press {j}.
7. Enter the name, up to 9 characters (see the 
character table on page 27).
8. Press {j}.
Key lock
You can lock the handset dialling buttons. Only 
incoming calls are accepted while the key lock is 
on. Emergency calls cannot be made until 
key lock is cancelled.
To turn on key lock, press and hold {j} for more 
than 2 seconds.
