Incoming Messages
8.2 Listening to recorded 
messages
When the unit has recorded new voice 
messages:
The {AUTO ANSWER} indicator will flash 
when the auto answer setting is turned ON.
The total number of recorded messages will 
flash on the base unit display.
Example:
Press {PLAYBACK}.

Only new messages will be played.
L
Adjust the speaker volume using {A} or {B}.
L
After playing back all of the new messages;
the {AUTO ANSWER} indicator will stop 
flashing but will remain lit up when the 
auto answer setting is turned ON.
the total number of recorded messages 
will stop flashing and remain displayed.
If you press {PLAYBACK} at this time, all 
recorded messages will be played.

At the end of the last message, the unit will 
announce the remaining recording time if it is 
less than 5 minutes.

If the unit announces that the memory is full 
after playback, erase unnecessary 
messages (page 56, 58).
Note:
L
The total recording time of all messages 
(greeting, incoming and memo) is about 30 
minutes
. A maximum of 64 messages 
(incoming and memo) can be recorded. If 
messages are recorded in noisy 
environment, the actual recording time may 
be less.
To repeat a message
Press {<} while listening to the message.
L
If you press {<} within 5 seconds of the 
beginning of the message, the previous 
message will be played.
L
To play back a specific message, press {<} 
or {>} and search for the message you want 
to listen to.
To skip a message
Press {>} to play the next message.
To stop playback temporarily
Press {STOP}.

If you press {PLAYBACK} within 1 minute, 
the unit will resume playing the rest of the 
messages.
Voice time/day stamp
During playback, the unit will announce the day 
of the week and time that each message was 
recorded.
If you subscribe to Caller ID service
During playback, the display shows the name 
and/or number of the caller whose message is 
being played.
You can call back the displayed number using 
the base unit.
1. Press {MENU} during playback.

The base unit stops playback.

If you do not need to edit the telephone 
number, skip to step 3.
2. Edit the telephone number (page 37).
3. Lift the handset or press {DIGITAL SP-
PHONE}.
L
The base unit automatically dials the 
telephone number.
8.2.1 Erasing recorded 
messages
To erase a specific message
Press {ERASE} while listening to the message 
you want to erase.
