4.2 Answering phone calls
4.2.1 With the cordless handset

Lift the cordless handset and press {C} or 
{s}

You can also answer a call by pressing 
any dial key from {0} to {9}, {*}, {#} or 
{
INT}. (Any key answer feature)

When finished talking, press {ih} or place 
the cordless handset on the charger.
Auto talk feature
You can answer calls simply by lifting the 
cordless handset off the charger. You do not 
need to press {C}. To turn this feature ON, see 
page 79.
4.2.2 With the base unit

Lift the handset or press {DIGITAL SP-
PHONE
}.

When finished talking, replace the handset 
or press {DIGITAL SP-PHONE}.
4.3 Using the recall feature

Keep the front cover page open for button 
locations.
{
RECALL} (base unit) / {R} (cordless handset) 
is used to access optional telephone services 
such as call waiting. Contact your telephone 
company business office for details.
If your unit is connected to a PBX, pressing 
{
RECALL} / {R} allows you to access some 
features of your host PBX such as transferring 
an extension call.
Call waiting
When a call waiting tone is heard during a 
conversation, place the existing call on hold 
and answer the second call by pressing
 
{
RECALL} / {R}.

Each time you press {RECALL} / {R}, you 
can switch between the first and second call.

Incoming calls cannot be dropped by the 
person who has received the call.
Recording
4.4 Recording a telephone 
conversation (Cordless 
handset only)
You can record a telephone conversation using 
the cordless handset. Recorded conversations 
are treated as new messages. To listen to the 
recorded conversation, see page 62, 64.

Press * (centre of joystick) during a 
conversation.

A beep is heard and recording starts.

A beep sounds every 15 seconds and 
can be heard by the other party, but is not 
recorded.

To stop recording, press Z.
Note:

There may be legal restrictions on recording 
two-way telephone conversations. Inform the 
other party that the conversation is being 
recorded.
