Chapter 3.  Installing the Base Station IDU

Step 2.  Installing cards in the PM 5000 chassis

A. Mount the chassis using the mounting brackets supplied, or other brackets as 

required by the support structure, allowing for adequate air flow around and 
through the unit (See 

B. Ensure proper Air Flow. There should be atleast 5” of unobstructed air clearance 

on each of the base station.

C. Before handling and installing the MSC and WSC cards, be sure to ground your-

self by attaching a ESD strap to your wrist and connecting it to one of the ESD 
connectors (See 

D. Install WSC cards in to the slots 2, 3, 4 or 5 of the PM 5000 chassis.

E. Similarly, each WSC-S-24 has two ejector arms (See

sis. Insert the card in to one of its designated slots (
