This chapter describes how to use the Netopia R3100’s Smar tPhone™ feature. To see whether your Netopia
Router suppor ts Smar tPhone, look for the two RJ-11 jacks, marked Phone 1 and Phone 2, on the back of the
router. If your Netopia R3100 does not suppor t Smar tPhone, you can skip this chapter. With Smar tPhone, other
analog devices such as telephones, facsimile machines, or modems can connect to the Netopia R3100 and
communicate over the same lines. The Netopia R3100 with Smar tPhone provides:
