Install the NMI Software Remotely From the Alarm Manager Server

Extracting and Installing the NMI Software
Now that you have transferred the NMI software from the Alarm Manager server to
the DNCS, follow these instruction to extract the NMI software.
Important: The DNCS must be running when you install the NMI software.
1 From an xterm window on the Alarm Manager server, type telnet [IP address of

If yes, go to step 6; you successfully transferred the nmipackage.tar file.
If no, something may have gone wrong when you tried to transfer the file
from the Alarm Manager server to the DNCS. Follow these instructions.
a Type exit and then press Enter.

6 Type tar -xvf nmipackage.tar and then press Enter. The system extracts the
nmipackage.tar file.
