2  Preparation Works 

These series products support two control modes: Serial/HDAVS. 
  For HDAVS series product, please select control mode as HDAVS. The control signal is sent to the 

PTZ via the coaxial cable.  

 

For the serial mode, the control signal is sent to the PTZ via the RS485 port.  

 

2.1  HDAVS 

Please go to the PTZ setup interface of the DVR and then set the control mode as HDAVS and the 

protocol as HD-AVS. You do not need to set address and the baud rate. See Figure 2-1. 

Please refer to the HDAVS series DVR user’s manual for detailed information. 

After the setup, please connect the DVR to the speed dome via the video cable. Now you can control the 

speed dome.  

The device supports coaxial upgrade function, which is divided into two modes: quick upgrade and 

general mode.  

Note:  
  Storage device needs corresponding coaxial upgrade function.  
  Make sure the camera is directly connected to the storage device during upgrade.

2.2  Serial  

If you want to control the speed dome via the serial port, please set the control mode as serial. The 

address, baud rate and parity value shall be the same as the dial switch of the speed dome. Otherwise, 

you cannot control the speed dome.
