Hardware Overview
SMC8014WN Front and Rear panels
The front panel of the SMC8014WN Wireless Cable Modem Gateway contains a set of light-
emitting diode (LED) indicators that show the status of the Gateway and simplify
troubleshooting. Figure 1 shows the front panel LEDs and Table 1 describes the them.

ON = connected to cable network successfully.
Flashing = attempting to connect to network.
Flashing = attempting to connect to network.

ON = cable modem has finished CMTS registration.
Flashing = attempting to register with CMTS.

Wireless

ON = wireless enabled.
Flashing = data is transmitting.
OFF = wireless disabled.
