12. Current transformer installation
The following steps shall be performed only by a qualified electrician. Unless the previous section was
carried out by the customer already, you only need this section - in addition to the general safety
information – to be respected by the professional.
This step assumes that the previous chapter has been conducted successfully.
Step 1:
For safety reasons, it should be checked whether a radio link between the display and transmitter is
established (small box with connections for the current transformers). This is the case if the symbol shown
on the display lights.
If the symbol is flashing:
• Check batteries: weak batteries result in reduced transmission power of the transmitter
• Interrupt power to the display briefly: simple communication problems are cleared by restarting.
• Reduce the distance between display and transmitter: the range is usually 30 meters indoors and overcomes two
walls or ceilings. Environmental factors or characteristics of the building may reduce the range.
• Check for metal objects near to the transmitter or display: metallic objects reduce the radio signal range.
• Check for household appliances in operation, which could cause interference in the frequency band: some
household appliances may interfere with the ENSEMBLE devices (light dimmers, hairdryers, electronic heating
thermostats with wireless modules, etc.).
If no radio connection can be established, reset the radio network and restore the radio connection (PAIRING)
manually (see relevant chapter in the manual).
Step 2:
The current transformers can be integrated in all 230 V installations as follows.
• The current transformers should be connected meter to the wires of all individual phases next to the utility meter
to safely measure all loads to be measured by the meter..
The direction of current through the transformer is not important, but it should be the same for all sensors.
• The sensors can be connected to the transmitter in any order.
On the display you should see consumption now. If no consumption appears, please check cabling, control the radio
link (see step 1 of this chapter), see the Troubleshooting section.
