SLEEP SETTING
When the sleep timer is used, the power is
automatically turned off after the specified
time passes.
1. Press the sleep button
while the power is on.
Sleep 90 lights in the
display
2. Press and hold the
SLEEP button to select
the length of
remaining time until
the unit turns off.
The sleep timer is set and the SLEEP indicator
lights in the display. Let go when required sleep
time (in minutes) is shown.
To cancel the sleep timer, press the SLEEP
button once and SLEEP will go out in the
display.

RANDOM PLAY
Tracks on the disc can be played in random order.
Playing in a random order - in stop mode
CD SECTION
Notes:
1. The random function shuffles all the tracks and
randomly selects one track to play each time.
2. The player will skip to a new randomly selected
track and start playing if skip button is pressed
during random playback.
In playback mode
During normal playback the random function cannot
be activated. It can be switched ON from the STOP
mode.
To cancel random playback
1. Press the stop button to stop random playing.
2. Press the RANDOM button to deactivate random
playback.
NOTE
During random playback, the RANDOM playback
function cannot be cancelled. Random play
cancellation can only be done in stop mode.

SYMPTOM
CAUSE (AND REMEDY)
CD
System does not turn on
Make sure AC power plug is secure in the outlet,
and outlet has power.
Disc in place but until won’t play
Make sure FUNCTION selector is set to CD.
Make sure disc label is facing up.
Make sure disc is clean.
Pause mode is activated.
Press and hold EJECT button for 3 seconds to eject
the disc, take it away from disc tray then inset again.
Disc skips
Disc may be damaged or dirty; check disc.
Make sure the unit is on a secure spot. Vibration or
jarring can cause the disc to skip.
RADIO
Poor FM reception
Make sure FM antenna wire is unwind.
Electrical interference in your home can cause poor
reception. Move the unit away from sources of
interference (especially those with motors and
transformers).
Poor AM reception
Reposition or turn the unit for better reception.
TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE
TO INTERRUPT PLAYBACK
Press        button.
The pause indicator     will light up.
To resume playback, press         button again.
TO STOP PLAYBACK
Press      button.
NOTE
The CD player may skip if the loud speakers are
situated close to the player and if high volume or
bass levels are used.
This unit only plays 5” CDs.
Locating a particular point in a track
To move backward at high speed
Keep        SKIP/PRESET button pressed during
play and release at the desired point.
To move forward at high speed
Keep        SKIP/PRESET button pressed during
play and release at the desired point
BACKWARD
FORWARD
Keep it pressed during play
Searching for the beginning of a track
To find a previous track
Keep           SKIP/PRESET button once to return
to the beginning of the current traack.
To skip tracks
Keep         SKIP/PRESET button repeatedly to
skip track(s) forward one by one.
BACKWARD
FORWARD
Press it once
REPEAT PLAY
This function will allow a single track or all the
tracks on the disc to be played repeatedly.
To repeat the same track
Press REPEAT button to repeat the current track.
The repeat indicator light up.
To repeat the whole disc
Press REPEAT button until
the indicator light up.
To cancel repeat play
Press REPEAT until the repeat indicator turn off.
During stop mode
The repeat operations can also be done in
the stop mode. The player will start playing
from Track 1 of the currently selected disc
after play/pause button is pressed.
During pause mode
The repeat operations can also be done from
the pausing point. The player will start
playing again after play/pause is pressed.
PROGRAMMING PLAYBACK – IN THE STOP
MODE
Up to 32 tracks can be programmed to play in an
order using this function
1. Press MEMORY /
CLOCK  button (in
stop mode).
2. Press skip button to
select the desired
track
3. Press memory button again to store this track
in memory.
4. To program additional tracks:
Repeat step 2 to 3.
5. To start playback, press the play button
NOTE
With program on, the skip button function can
only be used for the selected tracks.
To check the program
Press memory button successively to check the
sequence of programmed tracks.
ADJUSTING THE SOUND
To adjust the volume
Slide the volume knob to
clockwise or anti-clockwise
to increase or decrease the
volume.
For loud deep bass
Press X-BASS button to increase the low
frequency sound level.
For private listening
Connect a headphone (ø3.5mm stereo mini-
plug) to the PHONES jack. When the
headphone is connected, speakers are
automatically disconnected.
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING CD
If the CD skips or will not play, the disc may
need cleaning. Before playing, wipe the disc
from the centre out with a cleaning cloth. After
playing, store the disc in its case.
STOPPING AND CANCELLING
PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK
To stop programmed play for a moment:
• Press       play/pause button and     will be
displayed. Press this button again to resume
playing.
To add additional tracks during program
playback:
• Press      stop button, press the      MEMORY/
CLOCK button  until  the  track  indication  is
“--“ and then repeat steps 2 to 3
(programmable playback).
To erase the whole program:
• Press     stop button
until the word
MEMORY disappears
from the display. The
display will then show
the information of the
current disc.
• Or press the FUNCTION
button to select other
functions.
CLEANING THE UNIT
Do not use volatile chemicals on this unit. Clean
by lightly wiping with a soft cloth.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Before transporting the unit, take out all discs
from the CD tray.
